It is just about fifteen minute drive from the city center.
Though, the

the new

'Out latest

Saturday of the month. They performed on March 28 for the very first
time and it was a major success. This 'Wild Fire' Sundown Dance
with international buffet hit the entertainment starved revellers
at high note" said Rukshan Perera, the brain child of the new
Pegasus Project.
'Wild Fire'
will be in action again at the Pegasus Reef Hotel on April 26 at
9.00pm. Derek and the boys will rock the place with the songs and
music from 60's, 70's ,80's and 90's to the millennium chart toppers.
This will be
in a real carnival atmosphere with food stalls and action stations.
The selection
of best dance couple , the first couple on floor, the best rock
n' roller and the most romantic couple are some of the attractions
at this special 'Wild Fire Night'.
As Pegasus
Reef Hotel is just 24km south of the International Airport, it is
used as the main transit point to the other destinations around
the country.
'The overseas
travellers come to the hotel as usual and they stay two to five
days at the hotel, if they are on package tours. Others stay one
week to ten days with Colombo shopping spree' he said.
Pegasus Reef
Hotel started operations in January 1997 with 50 rooms and today
it has developed into a 150 roomed luxury resort including six suites
on seven acre beach front. All rooms are air-conditioned and with
hot/cold water, bath/shower, telephone and Balcony or Terrace.
While I was
having a chat with Ranjith , a man walked in . Ranjith introduced
him to me as the oldest employee of the hotel. I. A Jayasinghe joined
the place in early January 1971 even few days before the opening
of the hotel and still continues to work at the hotel.
"It is
therefore an ideal base for the business traveller, airline crews,
as well as for passengers who need a tranquil stopover in-between
long flights.' said Ranjith Godage , the Front Office Manager.
'We are very
much popular with Sri Lankans on Sunday as our Sunday Buffet includes
all the recreation facilities" Rukshan said.
The Hotel has
two restaurants. Main Restaurant and Garden Cafe serves an A 'la
Carte and Buffet depend on the guests usage.
BBQs area,

for leisure meals.
Freshwater
swimming pool with Children's pool and playground, Sandy beach with
lie-lows, two floodlit tennis courts, Squash Court, Volleyball,
Badminton, Animation and Indoor Games are some of the sports attractions
at the hotel.
'Since we have
a beautiful beach front, we want to develop the area of water sports
activities. It is under consideration and looking for a good water
sport related organization ' said Rukshan, who is keen on promoting
Pegasus as one of the top hotels in Colombo.
Also the hotel
is popular with conference facilities. The main hall can accommodate
nearly 150 to 160 on conference style. The Hotel is well known for
Weddings and other private functions.
