President
asked to send message
President Chandrika Kumaratunga has been invited to send a message
of good wishes to be telecast at the Tokyo aid conference, diplomatic
sources said.
They said the
good wishes of the President would show that both the UNF Government
and the PA opposition supported the conference and, effectively,
the peace process with the LTTE. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe
will head the Sri Lankan delegation to the conference and will speak
immediately after Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi.
