After running a marathon 89 weeks, 'Listen to the Original
Music Competition' came to an end a couple of months ago.
A new competition
is back in action from this week and is organised by M-Entertainments
Ltd., in collaboration with TV Times & Entertainment and Vibrations.
The name of
the new contest is 'all mixed up contest'. There will be a list
of 'Ten' names on the TV Times, all related to music, singers, albums,
songs, bands, films, actors and actresses. But they are printed
in mixed up fashion or in no particular order.
All you have
to do is to prepare the list in order in the coupon.

To enter this 'all mixed up contest', all you have to do is to prepare
the list in order as given in the example on the coupon No. 1 and
send it to the address given below.

All the entries
must be originals from the TV Times and no photocopies or faxes
will be entertained. All correct entries will be drawn by a panel
of judges.
The entries
should reach the above address by June 10 the latest. The decision
of the judges will be final and the names of the winners will be
announced in The Sunday TV Times accordingly.
There will
be five winners selected each week. The first winner will get a
Vibrations Gift/ Discount Voucher for the value of Rs. 500/- . Two
numbers of second prize winners will get a Vibration Gift/Discount
Voucher worth Rs. 250/-. and the two third prize winners will get
a 5% Discount Vouchers from Vibrations. All winners will receive
their vouchers by mail and can claim their prizes from Vibrations.

' Fete de La Musique 2003'
Fete de La Musique', International Music Day organised.
by Alliance Francaise De Colombo will come alive on June 28 from
10.00 am to 6.00 pm.
Fete de La
Musique begun in France in 1982 and now this music festival is celebrated
all over the world and every year Professional and Amateur musicians
in France take to the streets and parks on this day to celebrate
the arrival of summer after a dismal spring. It is free of charge
and thousands and thousands of people flock to these parks and streets
and performers embrace all kinds of music and nothing is out of
place and it goes on the whole day.
'Fete de La
Musique' invites all Amateur and Professional musicians to be a
part of Lanka's International Music Day Celebration.
Here is your
chance to expose the hidden talents and it is for everyone Amateurs,
Professionals (no age limit), Individuals, Bands, Dancing Schools/Groups,
Ballet Schools/ Groups, School Bands etc.
If you can
sing (in any language), play any Musical Instrument, dance, this
would be the day for you. The organisers are willing to give a chance
to the up-coming comperes to show their talents as well.

the organisers will provide the venue, sound systems and background
music by a well known band free of charge or you could bring your
own music.

Lankan Mrs.' parade for the crowm
The selection of 'Mrs. Personality' was held last Sunday,
May 25, when the finalists of 'Mrs. Sri Lanka' pageant took the
stage at the popular Irish Pub Molly's.
Ten beauties
sporting cocktailwear were ushered into the roll of drums by 'Flame'.
The 'Mrs. Personality'
winner will be announced at the grand finale at Holiday Inn on June
13.
The climax
of the evening was the crowning of 'Molly's Queen'.
SriLankan Airlines
Cabin Crew member Manukala Liyanage was the unanimous choice for
the 'Queen' and was sashed by Mrs. Annette Abeyratne.
Naslin Jayaw-ardena,
Shanthi Roberts, Manukala Liyanage, Prasanthi Perinpanayagam, Anoma
de Silva, Anne Peiris, Timiko Rajapakse, Candida Rodrigo,Gaythri
Bandaranayake and Jeev Amerasinghe are the ten finalists.
Seybhan plays for soldiers
'Saybhan and the Society Band' will perform for injured
and disabled soldiers of the armed services on June 14 at Rana Viru
Seva Authority auditorium.
'Saybhan and
the Society Band,' which has been playing music free of charge for
the joy of society's marginalised folk - those in prisons, homes
for the mentally depressed and sunshine homes for the elders, since
its formation in May 2000 has finally been given its due recognition.
The very humane
management staff of the Hatton National Bank Ltd., under the direction
of Rienzie T. Wijeytilleke have decided to sponsor this scintillating
and popular band to continue their noble programmes.
The Society
Band with Saybhan will kick off under the sponsorship and banner
of the Hatton National Bank Ltd., at a concert to be organised by
the Ranaviru Seva Authority for injured and disabled soldiers.
'Saybhan and
the Society Band' will also be featured with foreign artistes at
a gala concert titled 'Musical Therapy' organised by the 'Friends
of Sahanaya' on Saturday July 5.
The band will
also be featured on the Commercial Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting
Corporation every Sunday morning from 9.06 a.m. to 9.21 a.m. beginning
June 1.
