Awards for children of ETF members

Children of active members of the Employees Trust Fund, who have been successful at the Year Five Scholarship Examination, will be eligible for an award of Rs.10,000, the ETF said. This grant will be made in order of merit to 2,500 children.

The monies will be deposited in an interest bearing savings bank account of the National Savings Bank. The parents or guardian will be eligible to withdraw the interest accruing to this account at the end of each year if necessary, however the principal amount may be withdrawn by the child on his reaching the age of 18 years, the statement said.
