BIMST-EC Group of Experts meet in Colombo

Experts on international trade from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Thailand and Sri Lanka will meet in Colombo on June 23 and 24 to conduct negotiations on the draft framework agreement of the BIMST-EC free trade area.

The Group of Experts (GOE) meeting was decided at the BIMST-EC Trade/Economic Ministers meeting held last March in Colombo, which was headed by Commerce and Consumer Affairs Minister, Ravi Karunanayake.

BIMST-EC is a unique regional grouping combining three members of SAARC and two members of ASEAN.
