ComBank wins South Asian award

The Commercial Bank's Annual Report for 2001 has been adjudged the best in South Asia in the financial sector by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA).

Financial institutions from seven countries in the region, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and the Maldives submitted nominations through their respective Institutes of Chartered Accountants for the coveted 'SAFA Best Presented Accounts' Award.

Commenting on this significant endorsement of the Bank's annual report, Commercial Bank's Deputy General Manager - Finance and Planning, Ranjith Samaranayake said: "The South Asian Federation of Accountants has recognised our commitment to excellence in presenting an annual report in a reader-friendly manner. We are most gratified by this prestigious regional award in recognition of the efforts of the bank."

The 'SAFA Best Presented Accounts Award for 2001' was presented to Commercial Bank at the SAFA International Conference in Pakistan in May.
