"BUSINESS TERMS" helping capacity building

Arjuna Hulugalle Directories has put out a new English-Sinhala dictionary on business terms that should be a useful guide to the public, the business community and students.

The publisher said that there were thousands involved in commerce related studies and examinations at local and foreign colleges, and a young population commencing careers in private and public sector organizations or launching businesses on their own.

The new dictionary, BUSINESS TERMS, prepared over a period of three years, fills a niche in business education. The terms defined in it are short enough to be read in a few seconds, but complete enough for the reader to fully grasp meanings and usage. They will also prove helpful for writing effective business letters.

This dictionary contains the Sinhala equivalent for the principal headwords. In that respect it also acts as a glossary. However, the main focus is on the English definitions of terms used by those involved in banking, legal firms, insurance, accountancy and auditing, trade and all forms of business activities.

The price of the dictionary at Rs. 200 has been kept low to enable a large number of persons to benefit from its usage.
