Dolphin blessed with more water Their new Miami pool with the restaurant and bar facilities opened for visitors recently. This was built in the new four acre land in the former Miami Beach Hotel, which was acquired few years ago. This Rs. 17 million new pool, the restaurant and the cosy bar is mainly targetting the different segment of market, who wants to get away from the noicy club concept of the Club Hotel Dolphin. The new pool area ideally lends itself to specialized evening events, such as exclusive dinners and private parties, cocktails and get-togethers. According to Srilal Miththapala, the CEO of the Serendib Leisure, the investment on this new project is due to the present growth of Sri Lankan Tourism. ‘We can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.This is the first step of the master plan on the development of the Dolphin. The old pool is more than 20 years old and now needs serious engineering consultation. So we decided to go for another pool that paved the way to close the old pool to do the much needed repairs.’ said Srilal at the press conference held at the hotel premises last week. ‘ The Club Concept of the Dolphin always associates with much noise. It has fun filled animated programmes throughout the day , dancing , music and sports activities always with lot of noise. The guest ,who wants a quiet surrounding now can move to the Miami side for a peaceful holiday time while enjoying the ‘all incusive’ food and beverage facilities’. he said.
Special custom designed buffets and events can also be now offered with the new lo ca tion in and around the second pool. Total number of rooms of the hotel is 126 including 76 A/C rooms with bath and balcony and 50 A/C Cottages with show er and terrace. The hotel has two restaurants: Miami Restaurant and new pool restaurant. Oruwa Bar (Pool Bar) Miami Pool Barare the most popular bars that caters to all inclusive packages. Non All Inclusive
in the hotel are Karoake Bar/Disco Bar (Open on alternative days
only in the night). Dolphin is also popular for its sports activities. The Ayurveda Health Centre is also an attraction among the guests from overseas. Dolphin has one of the largest pools in Sri Lanka and with the hotel vastly spread out, there is sufficient room to accommodate large groups of guests who have specialized requirements. With the development of the new pool and the adjacent area, these facilities are further enhanced where different events can be selectively accommodated in different locations. |
