Party in the
Park This international
event is organized by two of the leading event management companies
in Sri Lanka, Everything and Launch IT.
It
is said that the strength of any party is in its DJ- the guy (or
gal) who spins the party from one track to another, and whose main
job is to keep everyone on the dance floor grooving. With the winner
of the DMC (Dance Music Club, a well known organization based in
the UK) DJ Mixing Champion award DJ Andrew Chow and DJ William Goh
from Singapore in action, this event is definitely bound to be a
hit. Chow is resident
DJ at the world famous Zouk Club, Singapore and was a finalist at
the world DMC technics and Vestax championships 2002. Another champion
DJ from Singapore, DJ William Goh performs at the Library, Disco
On Air, Warehouse, Xanadu, Studebaker, Venom, Studio East, Melieu,
TGIF and Phuture. Two large screens
will display their sampling of tracks in a way never seen in Colombo
before. Together these
DJs will scratch, spin and mix tracks of hip hop artistes like Jay
z, Nelly, Eminem, 50 cent, Snoop Dog, Busta Ryhmes and Missy Elliot,
to generate an electrifying atmosphere which will get the crowd
moving and grooving to the beat. To intensify this incredible atmosphere
the whole party will be pumped up with consistent sound power of
30, 000 watts, and the event will be illuminated using laser lights,
strobes, beam lights and many more special lighting effects. Another attraction
at this event would be the "Modified car Show" which will
be held at the Nawam Mawatha car park premises. The best modified
cars in Sri Lanka will be on display at this show. Iraj n Da Ill
NOIZE feat. Urban sounds will be performing their hit single 'Roots'
which stayed in the number 1 spot for 4 weeks in the (Sri Lanka)
top 40 charts! This was the second best song for 2002 and Number
18 on the UK Asian charts. Australian
club Dj Tareeq who has been working for Kiss FM in Australia will
also make a guest appearance at the event. The media sponsors
for this event are Yes FM and MTV and the Sunday Times is the official
newspaper. The official carrier is SriLankan Air lines. |
