In the wake of Thai Prime Minsiter Thaksin Shinawatra's
successful visit to Sri Lanka, his ambassador Jerm Tivyanond flew
to Kilinochchi yesterday for talks with the LTTE leadership.
Reports said
the ambassador met LTTE political wing leader S. P. Thamilselvan
with a message urging the LTTE to return to the negotiating table.
The envoy's
mission came a day after the Thai premier told Parliament on Friday
that his country, which hosted the first rounds of the peace talks
between the government and the LTTE would be happy to host any more
sessions at any time.
