‘T-56’ pistol made in Lanka

For the first time in Sri Lanka, Police have detected a revolver that can be loaded with different types of bullets, including T-56 bullets.
Police said the revolver was among the firearms seized after a raid by the Chilaw Police Rapid Deployment Unit on a gun factory at Palavi in Puttalam on Wednesday.
The police recovered 26 12-bore guns, 10 components of firearms, four guns and several lead ingots.
Police said they believed that underworld members had been running the firearms factory and the weapons produced here were sold to criminal elements.
