Shift this bus terminal

The bus terminal adjacent to the petrol station near Kandakapapu junction, Kirillawala is causing a major traffic jam for all vehicles, especially school vans packed tight with childeren plying on the Weliveriya - Weboda Road.

As the road is narrow at this point, it may be practical to shift the bus terminal to a more convenient site along the main road.

It is also essential to have a pedestrian crossing at a suitable spot for the convenience of people, especially schoolchildren.

There is vacant land for the widening of this narrow stretch.

The Transport and Highways Minister should take measures to prevent a repetition of the van/bus collision tragedy which took place at Peliyagoda junction, where three young lives were lost.
