Amex
credit cards now in Sri Lanka
Nations Trust Bank (NTB) and American Express last week launched
the American Express Credit Cards for the Sri Lankan market. This
is the first time that Sri Lankan Rupee American Express Credit
Cards are being made available through such an association. It will
be issued and serviced by NTB and are targeted at high net-worth,
affluent individuals who value travel and lifestyle benefits.
The Cards will
be accepted on the American Express global merchant network and
Card members will enjoy a comprehensive portfolio of benefits being
offered in the Sri Lankan market for the first time. These include
global validity, access to Membership Rewards TM, insurance benefits,
emergency support services and access to over 1,700 American Express
Travel Services.
"Today
marks a significant step forward in American Express' partnership
strategy in the Asia Pacific region," said Kula Kulendran,
Vice President, Asia Pacific Australia, American Express Global
Network Services, the unit that manages the Company's third-party
card-issuing business, at the launch.
