against politicos slow
Investigations being carried out by the police against Minister
Mahinda Wijesekara and MP Justin Galappatti for their alleged misconduct
in public are moving at a very slow pace as reports regarding the
investigations are yet to be received.

DIG D.W. Prathapasinghe to whom the reports on investigations have
to be forwarded has confirmed that he has not so far received any
reports on the investigations and therefore he is yet to be informed
of its progress.
he investigations
include incidents where Minister Wijesekara had allegedly ordered
his security guards to fire in the air at a funeral of one of his
supporters and allegedly led a mob to assault unemployed graduates
and an incident where MP Justin Galappatti allegedly stormed into
a post office in Matara and terrified a postal officer.MSD Director
J. Jayasinghe who is also conducting an investigation over Minister
Wijesekara's alleged order to his security guards to fire in the
air said he was awaiting a report from the police.
Gamini Paranavithana,
the postal officer who was allegedly intimidated by MP Galappatti
three weeks ago said so far no progress has been made regarding
his complaint, only statements have been recorded.
