Ahamed moves into Amcham Trophies
It was a course day for Arshad Ahamed who with excellent stroke play collected 4 AMCHAM extravagant Trophies convincingly. He whacked the most number of pars, he had a massive drive of 320 yards, he was runner up to C. Thurairaja in the "A" Division classic and won the Open Challenge Trophy.

The AMCHAM annual golf extravaganza was a rousing success at the Ridgeways of the Royal Colombo Golf Club. Much credit to irrepressible Maria Rajanayagam who unobtrusively stood behind the entire operation of a packed tournament, classy award ceremony, a top notch Oriental Buffet dinner and an Indu Dharmasena hilarious skit thrown in for a fun filled evening. Kumar Mirchandani as Compere was competent and entertaining. There were 27 prize awards and regretfully in no way will I have space to accommodate all.

MISC Events
Indi Khanna salvaged a pauper 16 points and won the booby prize. The shortest drive which was shorter than a limp left hand throw was won by Dave Williams. T. Akberally collected the most number of birdies. The men's "B" Division was won by Sheron Fernando with a praiseworthy 42 points and Senaka Kumarage was absolutely outstanding with 47 points. Elegant left hander C. Thurairaja picked the Amex Trophy and a seat on United Airlines - destination New York.

Award Ceremony
Kishu Gomes who heads AMCHAM made an impressive and lively address thanking Nimal and Niranjala Perera representing Premier Pacific International Luxury Apartment Developers for their massive contribution to the sponsorship. He also remembered a host of others who contributed to the worthy cause of the Navajeevana Charity.

Much credit to AMCHAM and the formidable trio of Wimal Wijenayake, Susantha Pinto and Maria Rajanayagam who made the day an outstanding success with much to be rememebered. The outfits picked by Chandi Alles, Ranmali Mirchandani, Niranjala Perera and Maria Rajanayagam were classy.
