Vishaka makes directorial debut
Popular film and tele drama actress Vishaka Siriwardene, who has been in the show business for more than two decades has now ventured into a role of a director.

Her maiden tele drama, a single episode titled ‘Sasara Charika’ will be telecast on Rupavahini on Poya Day (October 9) at 9.00 pm and two more single episodes under the same title but separate sub stories will be telecast on consecutive poya days at the same time.

Vishaka, who has become a household name with five of her tele dramas being telecast these days, said she had plans to direct more teledramas in the future.
The ‘Sarara Charika’ tele series will have Achala Wishwasaya, Hendina Geneema and Sangeetha as the other sub stories.

Chitra Warakagoda, Somaratne Alakolange, Surangi Ruwanmalee, D. K. Udayasiri, Miyuri Samarasinghe, Palitha Galappaththi, Ranjith Silva, Suneth Melsiripura, Deeman Hettiarachchi, Suraj Mapa, Safna Kareem, Subhashi Yasmada, Chathuri Nuwanthika, Leela Kandage and Kusum Sahabandu are among the cast of these tele dramas, which are produced and directed by Vishaka Siriwardene.

While Sarath Wickrama has composed the music scores, the other credits go to Camera Kapila Bolidda, Art Direction Suneth Nandalal, Make up Priyantha Dissanayake, Dialogue and Screenplay K. B. Herath, editing Buddhika Ranasinghe and directorial assistance Joseph Jeremy Perera.
