More
dengue cases with rains
By Santhush Fernando
Dengue is spreading again in many parts of Sri Lanka but a Health
Ministry official reassured yesterday it was not a new epidemic
and there was no cause for an alarm.
With the onset of the rains, more than 50 cases have been reported
from Kandy, about ten each from Kurunegala and Matale and some cases
in Colombo.
The Health
Ministry official said there were no deaths so far but the Ministry
was taking no chances and was conducting preventing or awareness
campaigns.
However, hospital sources said the number of dengue patients being
admitted to hospitals was on the increase.
