Sri J’pura stun Wesley

Sri Jayawardenapura off spin duo Rumesh Jayasekera (5 for 37) and L.K.K.M. Perera ( 4 for 44 ) shared nine wickets to stun much fancied Wesley by 15 runs in their Lemonade Trophy inter-school encounter at Campbell Park, yesterday.

Wesley who sensed victory earlier in the day when their off spinner Arnold Vandersy ( 4 for 2 ) ran through the Jayawardenapura batting in their second innings to limit the Kotte lads for only 41 runs.

However, Wesley's joy was short lived. Having to make only 120 to win in almost two sessions Wesley lost their way to be all out for 105 runs with the Jayawardenapura off spinners making in-roads into their batting. For Sri Jayawardenapura MV Rumesh Jayasekera returned with match figures of 9 for 87.
