Old Bens form rugby wing
St. Benedict's College past rugby players have formed a rugby wing to promote rugby at their alma mater. Former cricketer Ranjit Fernando who was captain of the first college rugby team in its inaugural year (1963) and team-mate Faizal Doole have consented to be advisers to the wing.

All past rugby captains are requested to furnish their teams and photos if available to R.Valentine Fernando on Telephone No. 2458101 or Sehan Fernando on 075519195/ 0755529195. The rugby wing intends to put up a board with all the past captains in the Old Bens club premises.

The following office bearers were elected. President - P.A. Gordon, Vice President - Rimantha Goonesekera (Finance), and Mevan Rajeewa (Technical), Secretary - Ashley Fernando, Asst. Secretary - D. Fernando, Treasurer - Rajitha Jayasekera, Asst.
