Cultural event was a cover says SU
The Sihala Urumaya has reiterated that the Sinhala-Tamil cultural event held in Colombo this week was Pongu Thamil, a celebration to mark Tamil cultural events.

Sihala Urumaya Leader Thilak Karunaratne told The Sunday Times that there was ample evidence that the Sinhala-Tamil Cultural Festival was a cover for the Pongu Thamil festival and was organised by Tigers and Sinhalese 'Tigers'.

"More than 75 percent of the organisers were affiliated to the LTTE who carried out a violent action against the demonstrators who were engaged in a peaceful demonstration.

The organisers started a quarrel when a person in the audience had asked, 'How do you say that Prabhakaran is a hero and the sole representative of the Tamils?' after a lecture by Sena Yoganathan, who had glorified Prabhakaran,” Mr. Karunaratne said.

"We will not allow any one to destroy democracy, freedom of the media or implement an Eelam-making Interim Administration,” he said.
