Satya
Paul – A saree work of art
Stylish, individualistic, sophisticated. Satya Paul is unveiling
a versatile and non-conformist range of sarees at the Colombo Fashion
Weekend. The inspired collection of sarees from the avant garde
design house, bears the unmistakable stamp of the Satya Paul Design
Studio in its strong graphics juxtaposed with delicately etched
design, unusual colour palette and vivid contrasts.
Treating the
six-yard saree as a wide canvas, the designer, Puneet Nanda, has
expressed himself in myriad hues. Bright traditional colours juxtaposed
with soft tones, vibrant strokes of design highlighted by exquisite
embroidery, all transform the Satya Paul saree into a work of art.
“I look to creating a colour palette and design that is limitless
in possibilities - a range of garments that everyone has the freedom
to chose from,” says Nanda.
Among the range
is a collection of sarees that is inspired by the flow of water
and the movement of nature. The range is in summery pastels like
powder blue and soft pink.
Introducing a surprise element into the design is an unusual mixing
of colours in the elegant saris in finest crepe-de-chines, georgette,
crepe jacquard and satin jacquard.

printed with complementary contrasts. The exquisite colour palate
and printing techniques lend the right touch of exotica to the Satya
Paul collection. The design team has created an inspired range of
exclusive sarees in tone on tone colours using delicate detailing
and printing techniques. Highlighting the superb prints are the
delectable embroideries using crystal, coloured and mother of pearl
sequins.
The Satya Paul
look this season offers luxurious fabrics, soft colours and ultra
wearable silhouettes, complete with dramatic detailing and styling.
The Satya Paul collection rises to a crescendo with a surprising
finale underlining the theme of love and joy.
