Swarovski
Crystal Fusion in Colombo

Some
of the Jewellery fashions at Swarovski - Colombo |
Swarovski ,
the pioneer in Crystal Fashion wear and ornaments, recently presented
their latest collection of Jewellery and accessories with a Jewellery
Fashion Show, at the Boulevard at Crescat City.
For more than
a hundred years Swarovski, the Austrian family company, has been
the world’s leading brand for cut crystal. Crystal jewellery
stones are as much a part of the company’s product range as
gift articles, home accessories and collectibles fashioned from
faceted crystal.
Swarovski’s
artistic and designs abilities are evident in ‘Daniel Swarovski
Paris’ and ‘Swarovski Jewellery’, the company’s
accessory and jewellery ranges. Since 1995 visitors have been able
to enjoy the ultimate crystal experience at the Swarovski Crystal
Worlds. But today, Sri Lankans too have the opportunity to shop
at the Swarovski Store on the Lobby level at the Boulevard, Crescat
City.
The Autumn/Winter
2003 Jewellery Collection was presented in two categories - Crystal
Elegance, the Classic collection and Crystal Fusion, the Fashion
collection.
With the Classic
line of the collection, Swarovski celebrates a return to femininity:
Jewellery pieces in feminine designs, enhanced with crystal stones
in a variety of expressive colours and cuts, that transform their
wearer into a veritable Queen of the Night. This winter, crystal
rules the party scene in Sri Lanka , playing a glittering leading
role in the world of fashion - whether in the form of a simple accent
on a smart suit or as an extravagant head-turner on a festive cocktail
dress.
Large baguette-cut
crystal stones take centre stage and combine to form striking elements
in rings, bracelets and necklaces. Attractive star-shaped designs
make brooches and earings the perfect party accessories, and individual
crystals set in necklaces and bracelets underline the classic feel
of this trendy line.
Nowadays there
is hardly a trend that does not derive its inspiration from foreign
lifestyles and cultures. The catwalks of the world are currently
inspired by influences from India, South America and Asia. So, in
its latest Fashion collection, Swarovski takes up these elements
and expresses them in its own individual style of contemporary design
-“Fusion style” jewellery.
We mix and match
whatever we like, and practically anything goes. Swarovski’s
new trend collection has turned to the Far East, South America and
native Indian cultures for inspiration. Jewellery pieces are individual
and expressive, decorative and intricate, of a diversity verging
on the kaleidoscopic.
The Swarovski
Group also includes Tyrolit, which produces grinding tools and abrasives,
Swarovski Optik, the company’s optics division, with its precision
optics for hunting and nature observation, and Signity, which cuts
natural and synthetic precious stones. In 2002 Swarovski achieved
group sales of Euro 1,672 billion with a total of 14,000 employees.
