sees good in peace process, LTTE
The LTTE has "changed quite a bit" for the better since
a Norwegian-arranged truce went into effect last year, the group's
arch critic President Chandrika Kumaratunga said in remarks published
yesterday.
The President,
who this month sparked a political crisis that prompted Norway to
suspend its bid to broker a settlement, said there had been many
positive aspects from the peace process in the past two years.
"They
(the Tigers) have stopped killing, which is already very good,"
the President said in an interview with the Financial Times of London.
"I am not saying they haven't changed. They have already changed
quite a bit." |
