What Anura said about us
Anura Bandaranaike speaking in Parliament said: "Sir having read that, I am also tempted to read another very interesting article from the front page of The Sunday Times. Yesterday the Hon. Tilak Marapana very sleazily looked at the opposition and said; 'One Sunday newspaper is publishing falsehood about the Minister of Defence'. He was referring to The Sunday Times.

"Who owns The Sunday Times? The Hon. Prime Minister's uncle, the Hon. Prime Minister's mother's own brother, who is an independent free and wonderful human-being who is not influenced by anybody's threats.

“He is not influenced by the Hon. Prime Minister's mother's threats or the Hon. Prime Minister's threats. He allows his journalists to write the truth.

"So I told the Hon. Minister Marapana yesterday, 'Do not tell that to me. Tell that to your Prime Minister. Why are you telling it to me? Tell it to your Prime Minister. The Sunday Times is the only newspaper, sir that publishes the truth! Unfortunately not even my own uncle's newspaper publishes the truth! Unfortunately the only newspaper that publishes the truth is The Sunday Times.
