Women's
tri-nation cricket series in Sri Lanka
A pool of 26 players have been named by Selectors Rohan Fernando,
A.R. M. Aroos and Mercian Fernando in preparation for the Tri-Nation
cricket Series scheduled for April 2004. The Ladies will start practices
in January and final 14 will be named in February. Sri Lanka, Pakistan
and India will vie for the Singer/Asia Cup.
For Sri Lanka
and India it will be testing time before the World Cup 2005 as both
teams have already qualified to play while Pakistan failed to qualify.
Seven One-Day Internationals will be played in Colombo and Kandy
according to Gwen Herat, President, Women's Cricket Association
of Sri Lanka. Singer are the official sponsors.
