Lanka Cricket launches Credit Card

Sri Lanka Cricket teamed up with Sampath Bank to launch a Co-branded
Credit Card in a bid to generate additional revenue for the development
of the game. The launch of the Sri Lanka Cricket-Sampath bank gold
credit card will be followed by the introduction of the Classic
card and the debit card.
According to
the Managing Director and CEO of Sampath Bank Anil Wijesuriya Sri
Lanka Cricket will get 50% of the joining fee and 0.2% of each transaction
whenever a customer uses the Credit Card.

Marketing Director Jayantha Kudahetty who was instrumental in negotiating
the deal with Sampath Bank plans to add a host of benefits for cricket
fans who wish to obtain the credit card.
Plans are already
underway to issue special discounts for match tickets and souvenir's
purchased through the credit card.Kudahetty who revealed that Sri
Lanka cricket sold tickets to the value of Rs 1 million on line
for the Sri Lanka -England one day series is optimistic that the
Credit card concept will catch up fast among Sri Lankan cricket
fans.
Sampath Bank
who pioneered the introduction of MasterCard Credit cards to Sri
Lanka in 1989 is one of the leading banks in the Card Industry in
Sri Lanka. The Bank has been associated with Sri Lanka Cricket in
the past and employs a host of cricketers who play first class cricket.Current
one day captain Marvan Atapattu is one of their employees. |
