Policemen interdicted
Three policemen deployed to guard a person arrested during the incidents after Ven. Soma Thera's cremation and hospitalised, have been interdicted as the suspect had escaped.

The suspect had been warded at the National Hospital, but had escaped in the night and re-arrested the following day from his home in Kotahena. He has been remanded until January 29.

Four more arrested persons alleged to have been distributing provocative leaflets have been released. However Colombo Crime Division Director, SSP D.S. Lugoda said all four had come there to attend the funeral.

One of them was a farmer from Medirigiriya, another a public sector employee and two others from the private sector. Meanwhile, the CCD yesterday handed over a report on the incident to IGP Indra de Silva. During the investigations 65 persons including 15 policemen were questioned.
