Bangladeshi fishermen rescued by Navy
They were found in midsea drifting in a fishing vessel in rough
weather and rescued by the Sri Lanka Navy. They are now warded at
the Trincomalee general hospital.

High Commissioner in Sri Lanka Yakub Ali accompanied by his defence
Adviser Commodore Nurul Amin Chowdhry Thursday visited the Bangladeshi
fishermen at the Trincomalee general hospital and handed over clothes
and other essential materials for their use.
According to
the rescued Bangladeshi fishermen, 26 fishermen had left in two
boats on November 28 from Bangladesh and one boat capsized in midsea
and twelve of them died due to lack of water and food and their
bodies were thrown into the sea. |
