Seychelles sign mutual agreement
Foreign Minister Tyronne Fernando and his counterpart Jeremie Bonnelame
of the Seychelles signed an agreement on Economic and Technical
Cooperation to promote trade, economic, cultural, and scientific
cooperation, the Foreign Ministry said.
The two countries will have a joint commission and the first meeting
will be held in Colombo next year.
Minister Fernando,
who is on a two-day official visit of the Seychelles, the first
ever visit to the country by a Sri Lankan minister, also discussed
matters such as providing training facilities for Seychelles teachers,
illegal fishing and promotion of tourism between the two countries.
Prior to signing
the agreement, Minister Fernando has also met the vice president
of the country, Jamed Michel at the State House. High Commissioner
T.B. Maduwagedera and Mr. Deepal Rodrigo also accompanied the Minister
on the visit. |
