TULF
leader urges CBK to fully back peace process
TULF President V. Anandasangaree who met President Chandrika Kumaratunga
on Friday urged the President to give full cooperation to the Government's
Peace process and resume peace talks.
Mr.
Anandasangaree has requested the President not to dispense with
the service of the Norwegians in the peace process and the President
had said she had no intention of doing so.
The
meeting which lasted more than an hour touched on the High Security
Zone with the TULF leader calling for talks on this issue with the
LTTE.
He
said the President had agreed to call for a report with a view to
giving an Independence Day amnesty to Tamil youths who had been
held in detention without trial for a long period. |
