Primal Wijenayake a prominent old Anandian heads the Ananda Business
Group with distinction ably assisted by the silent stalwart Rohan
de Silva. The two of them merged superbly and with a few "helpkarayas"
organized an extremely successful Golf encounter at the Victoria
Golf Club at Digana.

Remembered
Colonel Henry Steele Olcott founder of Ananda College
was remembered when a handsome Trophy was donated for competition
in the Open event. Sam Gunaratne won the Olcott Trophy following
an impressive performance. In the event for Anandians only Wasantha
de Silva of Hero Honda connections wrapped up the event with a praiseworthy
victory.
Master
driver
Sanjeewa Wickremanayake the undisputed champ driver at
the Ridgeways drove a colossal distance to collect an award from
Baboo Wickremaratne. Ranjith Thabrew settled closest to the pin
and picked an award. Indira Tibblin once again came up at the award
ceremony to collect a special award for the best score over the
par a holes. Sam Gunaratne won the hidden holes contest and to show
his superiority in other areas won an air ticket to London courtesy
of Martin Air-KLM for just being downright lucky. Pretty Yoland
Aluvihare messed around beautifully and won a Curry Spoon.
The
ABG must be congratulated for their organizing skills. The fund
raising was quite rewarding and the beneficiary will be the Kularatne
Hall of the old School. |
