Food and Music Festival at Earl’s Regency
‘Australian Food and Music Festival’ will be held at
the Earl’s Regency Hotel in Kandy to coincide with the Aussie
Cricketers housed in the hotel for the second Test Match commencing
on March 16.
The
Aussie wines too will be on show during the festival, which will
be held from March 13 to 20 at the Far Pavilion Restaurant. ‘Paper
Band’, popular three piece Australian country and folk music
band will be in action at the hotel for the Aussie promotion.
Paper
Band comprises Robin Loochie on bass, Andy Thompson (Tenor /Saxophonist)
and Glen Terry guitar and vocalist. Andy is a well known musician
in Australia, who has performed with top artistes like Elton John,
Olivia Newton John and Alabama when they performed in Down Under.
Glen,
a musician of Jamaican/Indian heritage, has performed in many a
‘Blues Festivals’ in Australia. He has travelled to
Japan, Kenya, Mauritius and Egypt with his Blues band during the
past years.
The
Food Festival will come alive during the dinner time and the menu
will consist of Lamb Square Cut Shoulder, Lamb Loins, Boneless Mutton
Truck, Beef Steer Strip Loins, Beef Tender Loins, Roast Turkey and
Duck - totally Australian.
A
variety of Bread, Salads, Cheese, fresh Vegetable pastas and Australian
Pies will make the spread wider. Fresh fruits from Australia will
be an added feature.
‘Ambiance
will be created to suit the occasion and a limited a-la- Carte menu
of all Australian products will be on offer for guests who do not
like the Buffet spread.’ said Roshan Fernando, the General
Manager of the Hotel. Earl’s Regency is a member of the Aitken
Spence Hotel chain.
