J-Biz
recommends 25-member cabinet
The
Joint Business Forum or J-Biz says it is of the view that future
cabinets in Sri Lanka should be restricted to 25 ministers and an
equal number of deputy ministers.
In
recent times the number of ministers appointed by both, the PA &
UNF has grown to ridiculously unacceptable levels.
Cabinets
consisting of Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Project Ministers etc.
have ranged from 70 - 90 members of Parliament. Portfolios have
been cut and chopped simply to accommodate individuals
for political reasons, resulting in disruption in the administration
of many ministries, it said in a statement.
It has recommended ministers for:
1.
Ministry of Defence and National Security.
2. Ministry of Finance & Planning
3. Ministry of Plan Implementation
4. Ministry of Industries & SME Development
5. Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock Development
6. Ministry of Lands & Land Development
