Godakanda Herbal (Pvt) Ltd, the company that produces the range of Vendol products, is now ready with a herbal paracetamol tablet that will relieve pain and fever. The drug is awaiting the approval of the Drug Regulatory Authority, company officials said.

The company is also planning to introduce a new kind of hair shampoo, which comes in powder form. Add some water to the powder, apply on the hair and massage till it produces lather.

The production and marketing of the two new products will see the workforce rising by another 500.

It is also diversifying into the tourist hotel industry. Already four acres of prime land at Wadduwa (past Panadura) has been purchased with plans for a 60-room, four-star hotel offering a range of herbal treatment and other facilities.
Work on the site adjoining another popular ayurveda hotel, is expected to start immediately and completed in a year, said company founder Dr (Ayur) Lelwala G. Godakanda, whose recipe for success is reported inside on Page 11.
