Gamini-Malini in Yakada Yaka
Gamini and Malani duo fans are in for a treat when these popular lovers on the silver screen for over decade from late 60s to 70s return to stage in the film “Yakada Yaka” produced by the National Film Corporation to felicitate colossus of the silver screen Gamini Fonseka.

Starting from “Para Walalu” this popular duo had played unforgettable roles in over thirty films including ‘Nidhanaya’, ‘Edath Suraya Adath Suraya’, ‘Kawuda Raja’, ‘Awa soya Adare’ and the last film they acted together was ‘Anthima Reya’ in 1999.

Yakada Yaka was scripted based on a character in the film ‘Chandiya’ directed by veteran filmmaker Titus Totawatte in 1965. Others in Yakada Yaka are Sathischandra Edirisinghe, Wimal Kumara de Costa, Robin Fernando, Dilhani Ashokamala, Tennyson Cooray and Lal Weerasinghe.

The latest work of the veteran duo is the fourth full production of NFC and is directed by Dinesh Priyasad. Editing and special effects are by Dinesh Priyasad while Mohan Hettiarachchi is art director Nimal Siri Rosa handles camera direction. Musical score by Somapala Ratnayake.
