SLC to felicitate Murali and Warne

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will honour Muttaiha Muralitharan and Shane Warne for their phenomenal achievement of reaching 500 wickets in tests cricket at a glittering ceremony to be held at the Colombo Plaza hotel today.

Two of the worlds greatest spinners to play the game Warne and Muralitharan achieved their unique feats in the first and second test played at Galle and Kandy.Speaking to the Sunday Times SLC Secretary Mohan de Silva said,"It is a big occasion for Sri Lanka Cricket as two great spinners have achieved their 500 wicket milestone in one series,something that will never be repeated.

As a recognition of this SLC will present a plaque and felicitate both these world class cricketers".According to Mohan de Silva two cricketers who have played along side Muralitharan and Warne will make a special speech before SLC honours the two spinners.

Shane Warne reached the 500 wicket mark during the first cricket test at Galle which was his 108 th tests while Muralitharan achieved the same feat during the second test at Kandy which was the off spinners 88 th test.
