Ring
finger for Wayamba
Elections Commissioner Dayananda Dissanayake has directed election
staff to mark the ring finger of voters at the forthcoming Wayamba
Provincial Council Election that falls on April 24, instead of the
little finger as is normally done.
Accordingly
voters will be asked to extend their left ring finger for ink to
be applied. The reason for this has been that the ink applied on
the little finger of most voters in the North Western Province at
the April 2 Parliamentary Election has not yet been fully erased.
This
is the first time that the ring finger will be marked at elections,
instead of the little finger. |
