Kumara Ekanayake Trio popularly known as “KET” will
be in Jordan for two weeks with Corrine. ‘We’ve been
kept busy these past few months playing for weddings and month of
June will be another hectic beside our tour to Jordan’ Kumar
said.
KET
has done two video clips for “Nano Nano” and “Poddak
Kata”. The two new songs now can be seen on Swarnawahini and
TNL. Their popular hit ‘Latha Latha’ brought them overnight
popularityfor Kumara and it was played on all TV channels and most
of the radio stations.
“I
had few chances to go as a solo artiste but I always give preference
to the band because, I think I can do much better with my band.”
he said. KET comprises Kumara, Stephney and Thushara., who are together
for more than ten years.
The
guitarist Thushara Peries released his very first solo single “Me
Palu Mawethe” and it was in Sirasa’s ‘Rasa Risi
Gee” song chart. ‘I have performed in the field of entertainment
for over fifteen years. For my performances I use superior quality
sound equipment and the repertoire of songs and music styles are
extensive and diverse. We have carved our niche in the entertainment
field throughout Sri Lanka.’ Kumar said.
“Although
we play as a trio, we still can cover a dance with our wide repertoire,
which includes contemporary chart hits to the evergreens, cha cha,
quicksteps irresistible medleys of songs of yesteryear. I personally
love to play rock music but some of rock songs are difficult to
play as a trio.” he explained. |
