Suntel
wOw -C’hips with a difference

The second round of the Suntel wOw motor racing championships together
with a host of other racing events is scheduled to be held on June
26 and 27 at the Pannala International Circuit.
The
meet is jointly conducted by the Ceylon Motor Sports Club (CMSC)
and Sri Lanka Racing Riders Association (SLRRA). This was revealed
to the media by Chaminda Seneviratne, manager of ISP for Suntel
who are the sponsors of this three leg championship at a press briefing
held in Colombo.
He
further stated that they will be introducing a new website specially
for motor races where motor racing fans could log in and get the
latest information on the history of motor racing and the ongoing
championship.
The
website will also provide photos of the first leg which was held
in February along with the results of the second and the third leg
which is scheduled to be held in November. This will be the first
instance where a local motor sports event results is being given
live.
Yohan
Lawrence , president of CMSC stressed that we intend to conduct
about 17 events which will start at 9.00 a.m. and end at 1.30 p.m.
Of these 17 events, five races Standard Mini, Ford Laser, Formula
Ford Pre 85 and post 85 and M&S over 1600cc will be championships
events.
A
special feature of this three leg championships is that the Sri
Lanka Automobile Sports (SLAS) the governing body of motor racing
in Sri Lanka have included the second and third leg of this championship
in the national champioships conducted by them. |
