Interpol
meet on sex tourism and child abuse
The issue of sex tourism and child prostitution and methods of combating
them will come up for discussion during a top level conference of
Interpol officials and experts on the subject, starting in Colombo
tomorrow.
The
issue will be discussed at the 22nd meeting of Interpol Specialized
Group on Crime Against Children to be held at the BMICH from June
14 to 16.
This
conference is organized for the first time in Asia by Interpol Headquarters
with the assistance of Interpol Sri Lanka section and the Children
and Women's Bureau.
According
to the Children and Women's Bureau Director, Senior Superintendent
of Police J.M.S.W. Jayasundara, a range of issues on combating crime
against children will be discussed.
Ministry
of Public Security, Law & Order Secretary Thilak Ranaviraja
will be the chief guest. Inspector General of Police Indra de Silva
will also be present. |
