and to enhance quality and professionalism in the music industry.
The
project is a brainchild of Malcolm Perera, the Manager of the Dream
Team. ‘Actually this, I think is the need of the hour. We
have a number of talented musicians and artistes already performing
in the Lankan western music scene or getting ready to embark in
the field of performing arts. They are talented but lack in professionalism.
I think the experienced musicians veterans in the scene has a duty
to correct the young ones and to guide them in proper way’,
said Malcolm, who has years of experience behind him as a manager/musician.
Top
personalities in the scene, Noeline Honter, Mignonne Fernando, Sunil
Perera, Geoffrey Fernando, Derek Wickremanayake and Sohan Weerasinghe
will be some of the speakers.
They
will be speaking on Vocalization, Compositions, Marketing, Showmanship,
Music and Business, Guitar work, Discipline and Dress code. ‘It
is very important a musician should be disciplined and act accordingly.
When performing for public, showmanship, dress code, presentation,
public addressing are very vital. The talent must mix with these
to shine brightly. I think the veterans should shoulder the responsibility
in educating the younger generation’, he said.
‘The
workshop is a must for all young musicians, singers and performing
artistes’, Malcolm said.‘For a Musician To a Musician’
workshop is free for all musicians. Hoteliers, top decision makers
in the commercial sector will also be invited to the workshop.
