Many
Lankans go overseas
Walk into the departure lounge of the Colombo airport and apart
from tourists, migrant workers, students and business travellers,
you find a rapidly growing category: Sri Lankan tourists!

airlines offering cut-rate tickets to destinations like Singapore,
Thailand, Malaysia or Hong Kong, the country's growing upper middle
class is grabbing these cheap tickets and affording themselves a
holiday at hotels that are often cheaper than those in Sri Lanka.
