Milk
powder prices up this week?
The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) is meeting milk powder importers
on Thursday to re-consider a plea to raise milk prices by at least
Rs 4.50 due to an appreciating dollar.
Milk
powder importers applied for a price revision before provincial
elections but the request was rejected.
A
spokesman for Nestle said the upward movement of the dollar in addition
to a rise in world market prices has compelled importers to seek
a price revision. Along with Nestle six other milk powder importers
have applied to raise prices. |
