Jega,
Govin win Quattro Trophy
Noel Selvanayagam did himself pretty proud when SENOK his combined
sponsored the Quattro Golf classic at the Royal Colombo just recently.
Choked to capacity the entries were huge and all participants had
a great time under excellent playing conditions. Vivacious Rachel
Obeysekera dovetailed all the arrangements superbly.
S.
Jegatheeswaran & Vish Govindasamy merged superbly with the protective
charm of the omnipotent. Almost error free they hooked and sliced
to safety, banged the centre of the fairway, were positive on the
greens & studded with miraculous putts.
They
cracked 40 points picked handsome trophies and reserved for themselves
seats on a flight to Portugal to participate in the QUATTRO World
finals. They were extremely popular at the award ceremony and many
found their shot by shot commentaries quite interesting and sometimes
confusing.
Bandula
Weerasinghe & Avanka Herath playing excellent golf settled for
the same score but had to step out of slot number one as their back
nine was inadequate.
Gymkhana
events
Danny Schpers & Deanath Kulathunga found the 6 hidden
holes to win a special award and Sunimal Salgado & Joseph Kenny
did exceptionally well to pick a winning score on the Par 5 holes.
Birdies
Lallith Ramanayake & Arshad Ahamed moved into 4 Birdies
and were rewarded by Noel Selvanayagam. Navin de Silva was on full
throttle to speed to 295 yards and collect a good looking award
for the longest drive. The closest to the pin was fun filled. Serwin
Arasakularatne & Chutti Mansoor settled 13 ft. far from the
pin and jointly won the closest to the pin prize.
Awards
Kumar Boralessa Captain & Tita Nathanielsz President
distributed some awards & Noel Selvanayagam handled the main
award preceding an excellent speech where he thanked the R.C.G.C.,
the participants and the several supporters for helping him to complete
an extremely successful tournament. A lavish party followed with
Scotland's pride dominating the miniature late night.
Disaster
Upali de Silva & Asoka Jayawardena generally played
merry hell. H. Weerasekera & Navin Peiris messed around. T.
Nirmalingam & Eraj Gunaratne were lost and found and Paul Bishop
& Hugh Macconeil got stranded. The Ridgeways Course had a hard
time. |
