You,
Me and She’ for State Drama Festival
Bibishana Corera’s, play ‘Pariganakaya Thula- Numba,
Mama Saha Eya’ (You Me and She-With Computer), selected for
the second round of this year’s State Drama Festival will
be staged at 7.00 pm on August 20, at the Elphinstone theatre.
Having
been selected twice for the third round of the State Drama Festival
earlier this was the first time that Bibishana’s play has
been chosen for the second round.
In
departing from the usual themes the drama discusses how the privacy
of all individuals have been lost with the development of information
technology and computers.
The
play depicts two CID officers who are investigating poster campaign
conducted against a couple. Posters showing a couple in the nude
are seen on city walls making them to commit suicide. During the
investigation the sleuths unravel that the son of a politician in
the area was behind the posters. They also come to know that all
the material for the posters were taken from the Internet.
While
continuing with the investigation the CID receives a new poster.
It is with a naked photograph of one of the investigators. The cast
in the play are Bibishana Corera, Chryshantha Warnakula, Vincent
Kariyawasam, Priyantha Warnakula, Shirlin Lopis, Sanjaya Lakshitha,
Lal Mahaguruge, Iresha Priyangika, Indika Fernando, Prasanga Fernando
and Linus Fonseka. |
