Police
arrest four in Polte Mohan killing
Four suspects including two LTTE cadres involved in the murder of
Army informant Plote Mohan have been arrested by the Colombo Crime
Division (CCD) this week, head of the CCD, SSP D.S. Lugoda told
The Sunday Times.
Three
of them were arrested by two separate teams sent by the CCD to Batticaloa
while the other was arrested in Colombo. Police had traced the suspects
by tracking down the telephone numbers in a diary left in a lodge
in Bambalapitiya by one of the LTTE cadres involved in the murder.
Plote
Mohan who had provided information to the military for the past
14 years was gunned down at Bambalapitiya on July 31. The CCD investigations
have revealed that the LTTE had hired a van from Batticaloa and
deployed its own driver. On arrival in Colombo they had dropped
the driver at a lodge in Maradana and deployed another driver. Both
drivers and two LTTE cadres who had accompanied the assassins have
been arrested. |
