‘Chandani & Chaminda’, popularly known as ‘C&C’
have finally decided to go as a full band with a couple of new additions.
The line-up has now moved to six members and they call themselves
as ‘Chandani with C&C Connection’.
The
duo Chandani and Chaminda began their career in 1995 and continued
for four years as one of the most successful duos in the scene.
They had two new faces added to their line-up - a guitarist and
a percussionist.
This
four-piece band was popularly known as ‘C&C’. With
this addition, ‘C&C’ became more popular with hotel
circuits, dances and weddings. They had many overseas performances
during the past four years.
“Since
lately, we began to feel that it was time further to improve our
outfit and we now decided to go as a full band. We added two more
slots - a drummer and a bassist. The band now goes as ‘Chandani
with C&C Connection’,” Chandani said.
The
band now comprises Chaminda on keyboard and vocals, Sudam on guitar,
Jagath on percussion, Supun on bass and Maal on drums. ‘C&C
Connection’ performs weekly under contract at five star hotels
in and around Colombo. They also accept bookings for dances, weddings,
parties and other gigs.
The
versatility of Chandani is evinced in her ability to sing in various
languages. “Her popularity as a singer is obvious from the
numerous bookings we get”, Chaminda said. |
