the spirit ‘Oktoberfest’
“Oktoberfest” the popular “German Beer Festival”,
will be held in Sri Lanka with a typical German flavour from September
29 to October 3 at the Colombo Plaza Hotel.
LTU
International Airways, the carrier based in Dusseldorf, Germany,
will be flying down a well known Bavarian band ‘The Alpenfetzer’
a four piece band which plays folk music, yodel, dance and country.
Their wide repertoire includes oldies, country and popular hit parade
favorites, as well as international melodies enjoyed by young and
old.
These
four congenial musicains, Hans Exenberger, Thomas Klaiber, Tomb
Huber and Mathias Seteinbacher have put their heart into playing
their music in over half of the countries in the world.
Their
ability to play a variety of instruments such as Trompet, Klarinett,
Saxophone, diff Guitars, diff Akordeons, Trombone and Piano gives
them a sound that rivals that of a six man band.
They
do all traditioanl dances, shoepattling and Holzhackershow that
gives Oktober Festival an original touch. To give the true spirit
of an authentic Gemran Oktoberfest, in addition to the band, LTU
will also fly down a troupe of four traditianl Bavarian Dancers,
associated to the Bavarian Cultural Association.
The
Shoeplattlers as they are known, dressed in traditional attire will
also be a part of the team serving guests, food and beverage, in
between the dance routines to give that extra touch of being in
Munich for the Oktoberfest.
