Young
Entrepreneur Sri Lanka Awards tomorrow
Educating and inspiring young people to value free enterprise, understand
business and be work force ready is the vision of Young Entrepreneur
Sri Lanka (YESL), a non-profit organisation introduced to Sri Lanka
in 1998.
Their
mission? To provide young Sri Lankans with practical economic programmes
and experiences in the private enterprise system through a partnership
with the business and education communities.
The
Sixth Annual Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Ceremony is to
be held tomorrow at the BMICH. Dr Tara De Mel, Secretary to the
Ministry of Education, will be Chief Guest and Mahendra Amarasuriya,
Chairman of Joint Business Forum and Chairman of Commercial Bank
will be Guest of Honour.
Forty
trophies will be awarded to the outstanding young entrepreneurs
from 22 school companies from regional schools, including rural
areas.
This
year's panel of judges include Susil Siriwardane - Ex Commissioner,
Poverty Alleviation, Janasaviya, Sita Yahampath, Managing Director
of Kandygs (Export) Ltd and former Chairperson of the Women's Chamber
of Commerce, and A.H.M.R.B. Abeyratne, Project Director of the Business
Studies Division of the National Institute of Education, Maharagama.
YESL President Patrick Amarasinghe and Dayani Edirisinghe, National
