By Susitha R. Fernando
Kedella Nehe Unusum is a teleplay
that depicts how minor misunderstandings between spouses lead to
major break up of the family and how as a result society is affected.
Sahan
and Duleeka are married. They have a two year old daughter. When
Duleeka sees the secretary Nayani given a lift, the wife feels threatened
and as she loves Sahan this gives her much pain. She decides to
take the daughter and go back to her parental home.
Although
Duleeka is estranged she decides that she must join Sahan after
sometime Sahan confides in his good friend Navin. Navin too is married
and his wife Angela has left him. Angela is a lustful wonan. When
sometime ago Navin sent Sahan to his home to deliver a message Angela
tried to seduce him. Sahan relates this incident to Navin.
Navin
says all women are the same. Then Saliya says his wife Duleeka is
not so. Sahan seeks Navin as his counsellor to solve his family
problem. Navin is not a person to accept defeat. He remembers the
incident and has estranged Duleeka even more without trying to bring
about an amicable settlement.
